TOUR SUMMARY
This is a real off-the-beaten-track cycle tour to a part of Vietnam few foreigners ever venture. Starting in Hanoi, we take the train to the hill-station of Sapa and discover the mountain trails around Fansipan, Indochina�s highest peak. Riding over a 2000 metre high mountain into the remote Lai Chao Valley we visit a land known by the local Hmong people as "beyond the clouds."
Pick up from the airport or meet at hotel in Hanoi. Time to explore city before transfer to railway station to catch Tulico Express. Overnight on the train.
Arrive at Laocai. Transfer to Sapa. You first travel by minibus uphill toward Tram Ton. On the way, you can take a short walk to Silver Waterfall and then head to Heaven Gate, where you will be amazed by breathtaking view to mountain surrounding included Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina. Your ride will be mostly downhill toward Binh Lu. You will stop by Chu Va village of Flower Hmong for a break before you arrive in Binh Lu. Here you will have lunch in a local restaurant. Then transfer by minibus to TamDuong. Overnight at hotel in Tamduong.
The next morning, after visiting the market in Tam Duong, where you meet Flower Hmong, Black Dao and Lu minorities. You cycle from Tam Duong town back to Sapa. You pass by several villages stretching along the way. The ride is relatively flat. You stop by a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, you start on your journey back towards Binh Lu. There is almost no traffic and you will cycle through small villages and meet different ethnic minorities. The ride will be mostly downhill and flat. On the way, you can visit a Black Dao village, where you may find a beautiful handicraft for souvenir. Eventually, you arrive in Binh Lu. You will be able to take a short walk to stretch your legs before you get on the car on a journey back to Sapa.
7h00 AM You will commence your journey from Sapa by car to Lao Chai village, a Black Hmong ethnic minority village. You will then be able to walk from Lao Chai to Tavan village where the Giay ethnic minority hill tribe lives. Here you will be able to rest and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by your guide in a local house. After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After taking a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh, you start climbing uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa. And transfer back to Laocai mountain for a night train to Hanoi. 2 hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
5h30 am arrive at Hanoi train station. End tour.
